"Handoff" is not a new word to the world, following the release of OS X Yosemite, and iOS 8. Handoff commits to allowing you to hand off things from one device to another. It works when your devices are signed in with the same Apple ID and the Bluetooth is enabled. Find the icon in the dock and open the note. You can see what you have just written on iPad on your Mac now. You can continue to write this note on your Mac.
your devices are awake and unlocked. For example, if you are browsing a web page on iPad and the iPad automatically locks, Handoff will stop work until you wake the iPad up and unlock it.
