At the beginning, AirDrop came with OS X Lion, which allows Mac users to transfer contents to others. However, as iOS 7 was released, AirDrop is added to it to allow users to share data with other iOS users nearby. Without connecting two devices or connecting them to computer, iPad files can be transferred directly and simply using AirDrop.
