How to Recover Previous Files from iCloud Backup

As we all know, even if we accidentally deleted our iPad data, we can still recover the previous files as long as we've backed up our iOS device before. In this article, we will show you how to recover previous files from iCloud backup with two different ways.

Solution 1: Back up iPad to iCloud

In case you haven't backed up your iPad to iCloud, I will show you how to restore iPad from the iCloud backup file.

Step 1. Back up Files on iPad
Go to "Settings" > "iCloud" > "Backup".

Step 2: Back up iPad Now
After you've finished the instruction in step 1, just move on. Choose "iCloud Backup" in the "Backup " option and choose "Back Up Now".

Solution 2: Restore iPad from iCloud Backup on iPad

As you've have a latest iCloud backup which contains the iPad files you want to restore, you can start operating the recovery. You can also check this detail tutorial to back up and restore iPad using iCloud.

Step 1. Erase Settings and Reset
At the very beginning, you need to enter the Set Up interface. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset".

Then, you will be asked to tap on "Erase All Content and Settings" to erase all the settings and data.

Step 2. Set Up and Restore iPad Previous Files
When you've led to the Set Up step, just tap on "Restore from iCloud Backup" and choose the latest backup of your iPad.

Note: If you bought a new iPhone and want your old iPad data transferred to it, you can also follow the similar steps to restore old data to new iPhone with iCloud.

Solution 3: Restore iPad with iPhone Data Recovery

In this part, I will show you another way to restore iPad with iPhone Data Recovery. It's an excellent data backup and restore program for iPhone, iPad and iPod. Now, let's download it and start the steps.



Step 1. Download iPhone Data Recovery and Sign in iCloud Account
Launch iPhone Data Recovery after downloading and installing it on your computer (Windows/Mac). Then, choose the third recovery mode, "Recover from iCloud Backup File". Then, you will be asked to sign in your iCloud account by entering Apple ID and the password in the blank.

Step 2. Download iCloud Backup
After entering the iCloud account, all the backup files will be scanned out and listed in the interface. Choose the latest backup which contains all the data you want and click "Download".

Click the same button to start restoring. After that, you will see the below interface.

Step 3. Preview/Restore iPad
Now, all the files such as contacts, photos, messages, videos and even notes are shown in the interface. Just preview and restore the files you want selectively.

Above are all you need to do to back up and restore your iPad data to iCloud.
Even though you can restore iPad files with both iCloud and iPhone Data Recovery, there are some differences between the two programs:
1. iPhone Data Recovery is easier to operate. You don't need to reset your iPad before the restoration.
2. Even if you have never backed up your iPad with iCloud before, you can restore iPad data with the help of iPhone Data Recovery.
