How to Improve Your iPad Battery Life Span

In some forums, some people asked “Battery, camera, Safari and other hardware and apps of iDevice, which one you hope for improving in future iPhone/iPad?”

Most answers are the same and that is battery. Actually, Apple products was complained by numerous users about the short life span of iOS device battery. For better care for our iPads, including iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, there is no doubt that to extend iPad battery life span is a significant task. The first step to manage your iPad battery is to see which apps are draining your battery on iPad. At this moment, your battery consumption could be known so that you can move to the next step to minimize battery drain.

Tips for Maximizing Battery Usage

1.Disable Location Service unless Necessary
Tap “Settings” > “Privacy” > “Location Service” to turn off ON/OFF toggle next to “Location Service” with confirming to tap “Turn Off”.

2.Turn off Background App Refresh
Go to “Settings” > “General” > “Background App Refresh” to disable this setting, which does not make apps on the list upgrade all the time.

3.Close Mail Push
Pushing email all the day would drain your battery a lot. Thus, move to “Settings” > “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > “Fetch New Data” to view whether “Push” is off and if not, please turn it off.

Notes: If you set it Fetch, you need to set it “Manually”, “Hourly”, etc. and it is suggested that do not set it to inform you too frequently lest battery is consumed too much.

4.Put Dynamic Wallpapers off
Still wallpapers can let your battery drain be less than dynamic wallpapers so tap “Settings” > “Wallpapers” to choose a wallpaper in “Stills” or your photo library instead of “Dynamic”.

5.Remove Notification Center Widgets
Notification Center gives lots of convenience for us but it wastes battery if you allow the widgets still there. Therefore, call for Notification Center with sliding down from the top of the screen. Then, tap “Edit” and press the red icon in front of the App name to remove it from the notification center with clicking “Remove” and “Done”.

6.Stop App’s Automatic Updates
In the “Settings” screen, tap “iTunes and App Store ” to turn off the “Updates” switch on “AUTOMATIC DOWNLOAD” list.

7.Reduce Indexing in Spotlight Search
Some apps or settings maybe no need to set with Spotlight Search and moreover, they may drain the iPad battery, so you’d better disable some unnecessary indexing with going to “Settings” > “General” > “Search” to close some apps.
