How to Backup iPhone to Mac

"I have no idea how I synced my iPhone. I just connect my iPhone to Mac with the USB cable and it general walks right through it. Now I want to upgrade my iPhone to iOS 9. Before I do that, I need to be sure that all my iPhone are well backed up to Mac. iTunes are too complex for me and I've heard that one of my friends lost his data when using iTunes. Can anyone help, please?"

Step 1. Launch iPhone Transfer and Connect iPhone to Mac
Download, install and launch iPhone Transfer on your Mac and connect iPhone to Mac with the USB cable as mentioned in the first step in part 1.

Here we comes to the backup process. As you can see, data types like "Media", "Playlists", "Photos", "Books", "Contacts" and "SMS" are shown in the left panel. Now I will show you how to back up iPhone contacts and back up iPhone photos separately.

1. Back Up iPhone Contacts to Mac
To backup iPhone contacts to Mac, you just need to choose "Contacts" on the left panel. And all the contacts on your iPhone will be shown in the interface. Tick those you want and click "Import/Export" > "Export Selected(All) Contacts" >"to CSV (or VCF) File".

Choose "Photos" from the left panel and you will see all the photos shown in the interface. Tap on the photos that you want to back up. After the selection, click "Export to" > "Export to Mac" to selectively back up iPhone photos to your Mac.
